Wednesday 27th June 2007 Following extensive testing we can confirm that there are no known outstanding issues with LSS or the dongle drivers when running on Windows Vista. We have now moved over to Windows Vista-compliant dongle drivers for all new installations of LSS. Wednesday 14th Feb 2007 17:20 GMT The Windows Vista dongle drivers have now been loaded onto our website but please read this carefully... Not only will you need to download the new drivers, you will also need to download the latest LSS program update (either 9.50.13 or 9.55.06). Once installed, the dongle drivers will only allow you to use the LSS dongle when connected locally to the PC. It will not access the dongle across the network. We will shortly be uploading the network-enabled dongles and will post any news on this page as well. Please call us if you encounter any problem using the new (as yet BETA) dongle drivers. Monday 12th Feb 2007 17:00 GMT We have received the updated Windows Vista dongle drivers and are testing them. It is likely that anyone accessing the LSS dongle across a network will need to update both the server and client drivers to the new ones. Those running the dongle locally and not sharing it will simply have to install the Windows Vista drivers. We may also have to update the LSS program to cope with the new drivers. Please watch this space for further updates. Monday 5th Feb 2007 13:30 GMT As you may have been reading in our Newsletters and bulletins, we have been monitoring the latest development of Microsoft's new Operating System - Windows Vista. In its early test phases there were no problems running LSS on the new operating system. However, in recent weeks as Microsoft have neared release, things have changed. We have to advise users that the Deskey dongle drivers no longer install on Windows Vista. The manufacturers of the dongle are currently working on updated drivers which will solve this situation, but until that time we advise LSS users to hold-off any decision to move onto Windows Vista for the time being. We are assured that this is a temporary measure and a solution in the form of updated dongle drivers will be available towards the end of week ending 9th Feb 2007. We will of course post this news here and on our forum just as soon as we have a solution. |
